Wonder why Berda.com doesn't offer free shipping?

The reality is, offering "Free Shipping" is a marketing tool. Occasional promotions work much the same as any other sale pricing, and we do run free shipping promotions from time to time. But, when it's part of standard pricing, "Free Shipping" causes distortions in price. That's because for a company to stay in business, the cost of shipping has to be built into their pricing structure somewhere.

So, when companies offer free shipping, many products (and shipping locations) end up overpriced, while others get a fair deal. It only works out really well for some of the customers some of the time, but the company gets the added "Wow!" factor of offering something for free. We've chosen what we feel is a better way.
